Whiteout Survival started the beta in the summer of 2022. I myself have been playing for almost one year. The developers and moderators are quite active and do listen to the community on discord. But it’s about time I share my opinions and you guys as well!
WhiteOut starts out rowdy, lots of pvp & pve action. Once you figure out the power players and alliances politics get involved. The game focuses on controlling the Sunfire Castle, with this you have the power to give titles & perks. Being a year old its now known that your State must battle other States and its best to make peace. Thats where it gets boring. Peace is great for free to play, but pay to win players will have a hard time continuing to play daily as the State vs State is only once a month.
They do have events such as Foundry but eventually gets very stale as there are no repercussions. Talking about repercussions, this game allows people to train as many troops as they like. The troops act as defense and there is no limit. Soloing “Whales” even rallying them becomes near impossible later on in the game. The events have been very pay to win later on, and thus far new heroes are what they seem to be focusing on. Earlier states have started to die off and luckily smaller newer players come in and assist some of these states.
When the games pvp & pve action is going this is one of the best mobile multiplayer strategy games I have played, but considering the others on the market and the focus on pvp, I can see whales wanting more. The battles are mainly RNG based(Random Number Generated) So as a weaker player you may like the fact you can beat some whales in random sunfire battles, but some players heavily invested may get disgusted and decide to walk away as there still isn’t a proper breakdown of battles.
Daily missions can keep you busy every day, and finally group chats are added to the game. Discord is required to keep your clan/state alive as the events are repetitive and once again heavily focused on spending. Saving up speed ups for smaller events would be best for the free to play players. Talking about speed ups, I have never played a phone game where you can receive so many based off rallies, as well as an auto rally when you are offline. (bonus for free to play) You can acquire quite a few speed ups if you are active daily. For this I give the developers props.
To conclude my experience I rated this a 3 out of 5 star one year into playing. I still play daily but with no merge in sight it is difficult to try and play hours on end during the week.
